That’s right, Relevant Church is doing something a little outside of the box. On Sunday, November 8, we are rolling out the red carpet and having as many as 20 couples say “I Do” in one day. Want to know why? Watch this past Sunday’s message here. Following are a few additional thoughts and details…
Over the last few months I have really wrestled with how we as a church can help those who have recently begun following Christ take significant next steps on the journey toward reaching their full potential. At Relevant, we are seeing lives changed weekly and people coming from all walks of life. One common trend we are seeing is that of unmarried couples who are living together, or who have in some way or another “gotten the cart before the horse” in their relationship. Many of these are good people who are striving to take next steps, but aren’t really sure how to handle the current situation in which they find themselves. It was with this in mind that I believe God laid it on my heart to extend such an offer to these couples.
So here is how it will happen: Over the next ten weeks we will be working through important pre-marital conversations with any couple who signs up. Additionally, we will provide a year of follow up after they say, “I do.” Plus, Relevant Church will be picking up the expenses for the reception, photographer, facility, and invitations for this event. Every couple will be given access to all of these resources at our expense.
But that’s not all. On that same Sunday in November, we will be having a renewal of vows for couples who are married, but who have since their wedding made Jesus the center of their lives. This is an incredible opportunity for many more couples at Relevant!
