Scriptures:
Psalm 25:3
James 5:16

Our culture loves sex. It’s hard to go a day without hearing about it at school, on the radio, or in an awkward condom commercial while you’re watching TV with your parents.

There’s nothing wrong with sex. God created it for our enjoyment in the context of marriage. Sex serves as a picture of the intimacy between himself and his Church. Weird, I know, but true.

Our flesh tells us to fill our desires of being loved and accepted by having sex before marriage or by lying to our friends about having sex because we are afraid of missing out on what The Weeknd is singing about or being like the couples we see on TV like Gossip Girl’s Chuck and Blair or ones we see at school.

“No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause” (Psalm 25:3).

Don’t limit God’s ability to bless you with a sex life that’s greater than something exaggerated in a song or MADE UP on television. If you can trust Jesus to save you from hell, you can trust him to provide a spouse who will fulfill you sexually.

Instead of having mediocre sex with a random person that you’ll regret later in life, believe God for more. If you are in Christ, James 5:16 promises you this: “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

Pray for God’s help in purity now and a great sex life in marriage later. He wants to be faithful in giving that to you.

Now what?

What are you sacrificing in the long run for 30 seconds of momentary satisfaction right now?

How are you asking God to protect you for your future sex life?

What practical steps are you taking now to make that a reality?
