We’ve all done it. We have formed thoughts that became words that were pretty disrespectful about someone else. Your thoughts about others matters for a whole lot. It’s time to take out the trash…

Unfortunately, most of us have developed the bad habit of judging people by their external appearance. Then we find ourselves thinking and saying things about them that aren’t very positive (to say the least). But the Bible says, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.”
Matthew 7:1-2

Wouldn’t it be terrible if God thought and talked about us the way we think and talk about others?

I’m so thankful for the fact that God doesn’t see me as a flawed creature. Instead he sees me through the lens of Jesus, who made me whole, perfect, and new. 2 Corinthians 5:17-19

H/W Challenge
Let’s start to think of others through the lens of Jesus. The next time you judge and gossip about someone else, think about this: we have a Savior who died on a cross for each and every one of us, and that includes the people you’re talking trash about.

PRAY
Lord Jesus, help me to see people, think about people, and speak about people the way that you would. Thank you for not judging me the same way I judge others, like books by their covers. Help me to love people. Help me to throw out any trashy thoughts that fill my mind about others. Thank you, Amen.
