Suffering
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” —Romans 8:28
Suffering is part of life. We can’t escape it and we can’t hide from it. Suffering comes to us all. It’s the pain, distress, and hardship that follows a natural disaster, a difficult diagnosis, or a random act of violence.
When God made the world, there was no suffering, and when Jesus returns, there will be no more suffering. But in between, suffering is an opportunity to draw near to God. He is near to the brokenhearted and he is the only one who can bring purpose out of our pain.
When we’re in the middle of suffering, it feels like it will never end. But with God’s help and the help of others, you will make it through.
