Forgiveness

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” —Colossians 3:13

It’s possible to learn to forgive yourself and others.

Forgiveness is the key to getting over the wrongs others have done to us. When we choose to forgive—even though everything in us wants to hurt the person who hurt us—we are choosing to let God heal us and set things right.

This is what Jesus did for us. He forgave us for every bad thing we have done or will ever do. Then he told us to go out and do the same.

Forgiving others does not mean you have not experienced hurt. The pain you feel is real and should not be ignored. Forgiveness is how we stop the hurt from the original offense from growing into bitterness and resentment.
